KIMONO KRAZE

Kimono with Cut Off Jean Shorts
Source: Pinterest
Hey Ladies! Today, we wanted to introduce you to the 'kimono kraze.' You've seen every celeb rocking this style and there's no doubt you've seen them on the streets in your own hometown! So, without further ado, let's get to it!

What are kimonos?

Kimonos are a traditional Japanese robe that is loose fitting and features wide sleeves. Kimonos were previously worn everyday but now in Japan, they are reserved for special occasions such as weddings, funerals, or tea. This garment made its way into the fashion world and today, you can see this once formal piece paired with jeans, shorts, or even dresses!

Reasons Why We Love Kimonos

1. V E R S A T I L I T Y. Here at Page 6, we are all about pieces you will want to wear time and time again. Kimonos definitely fit under that category. The style possibilities with these beauties are endless as you can wear the same one over and over, just with a different shirt and jeans. Kimonos can also be thrown on when that traditional cardigan just isn't adding 'pop' to your look.

2. The easiest way to dress for the unpredictable weather. If you're from the South, you definitely know what it is like to have turn the heat on in your car during the morning and then blare the air by mid-afternoon. Summer nights also have a tendency to get a little chilly but who wants to stash the cute tanks and cut offs just because Mother Nature doesn't know how to cooperate?! Not us! We believe that kimonos are the P E R F E C T way to combat her temperamental side. You can throw it on when you're chilly and whip it off as soon as it heats up. It's definitely the best of both worlds, don't you agree?

3. Boho chic us swoon. Although kimonos originated in Japan, they have definitely evolved to fit the 'boho chic' look we all aspire to embody. Whether you're a true free spirit girl or not, kimonos can definitely give off those indie vibes that will help to effortlessly take your outfit to the next level. And who doesn't love to look super great without even trying?!

Kourt took this look from a 6 to a 10 just by adding this statement kimono...I mean come on, how boring would this outfit have been without the addition of the free flowing garment?!

Jessica Alba Kimono

How chic does Jessica Alba look rocking the same kimono as Kardashian?? SUPER CHIC. This just goes to show that there are numerous ways to style this baby--as a beach coverup, with a casual summer dress, and of course, your favorite jean cut offs. However the celebs chose to wear this baby, one thing will always remain the same: kimonos are the epitome of fashion versatility!

Now that you've gotten a taste of how celebrities style their kimonos, we are going to show you how we style this garment at Page 6. :)

White Floral Printed Kimono with Pom Poms

O B S E S S E D with this new floral print kimono by Z&L. We are in love with the tropical vibes this beauty gives off. Because this kimono is definitely the statement piece of the outfit, we believe that you should show it off and enhance its beauty. You'll be able to take your drab outfits to the next level each and every time you slip on this beautiful piece. You can pair this number as shown with our flirty 'Amelia RacerBack Tank' in grey and our sassy statement necklace. Because kimonos are versatile statement pieces that can easily be transitioned from season to season, when its chilly out, slip on any pair of our fabulous denim. As for now, we recommend picking out some adorable shorts to complete your look.

Peacock Printed Olive Kimono

H E L L O gorgeous!! We are loving this printed kimono by Umgee. This one has made a Page 6 appearance several times already but isn't it easy to see why? There's no way you could possibly get tired of it, am I right or am I right? And how P E R F E C T does this beauty look paired with one of our favorite white racerback tanks, the 'Amelia.' To complete our model look, we added our Just Black Released Hem Crop Skinny Jeans in forrest green. But...with the weather heating up, we also think you could rock this beauty with our Lush Pocket Tee in Marsala and our flirty Just USA Daisy Duke shorts! So perfect. Add our sassy Cateye Tortoise Shell Sunglasses and glamorous Ina Crystal Tassel Necklace for the ultimate finishing touch.

Honolulu White Lace Kimono

Hawaii is always a good idea. And it just so happens, that the name of this kimono is Honolulu...how fitting right? Totally. Pair this free flowing white lace kimono with our boho 'Skye Tie Dye Dress' (as shown above) or with our super flirty, super versatile 'Miss Strawberry Swing Dress.' The starch white contrast of this free flowing number will look absolutely perfect paired against a simple pink swing dress. After all, we want to showcase the best part (if it's even possible to pick one) of your outfit, right?! Top it all off with a classy necklace, like our 'Russet Necklace!'

 White and Garnet Embroidered Kimono

If you're going to have to layer, definitely do it in style. We couldn't think of a better way than with this white embroidered kimono by POL. We paired this simple beauty with our flirty, garnet 'Tailgate Chick' tank. I don't know about y'all but I definitely love warm, rich colors with bright white. You'll definitely make a statement that's for sure! Add your favorite denim and a tassel necklace to really make this kimono pop!
